It seems that many people with this gun get the original Glock Perfection(tm) experience for the first 600-1000 rounds, but then, in the beginning, start to experience erratic firing behavior and some sense of FTE. Mine started at about 600 rounds - opened the same PMC Bronze case that I had no problem with more than half of the previous 600 rounds (I've been talking about this G19 like crazy, seriously, I've had 0 problems with anything I've tried to feed it, something this has been magic up to this point). All ready to shoot this thing 650 rounds and I ran into 2 FTEs in the first 2 magazines and saw some brass marks on the front of the ejection port. I got through 40 rounds without further problems before handing the Glock to my lady friend, who was met with a hot peck on the cheek followed by a smack on the forehead as soon as she started shooting. After cleaning and inspecting the gun, nothing appeared to be broken or out of place (except for the previously noted brass mark on the front of the discharge port), I loaded another magazine and tested it. 4 out of 15 rounds hit me in the forehead or landed on top of my head. 1 of the rounds went through FTE and they all performed quite poorly.

I'll start with the cheapest (and in this case the most reported solution) and go from there. First stop replacing the 336 ejector with the new 30274 ejector. Now, since you can't just buy the ejector, which would be pretty easy, you have to buy a replacement trigger housing. But- they don't make a gen 3 trigger housing with a 30274 ejector (they don't seem to want to admit the problem), we had to order a gen 4 trigger housing, remove the ejector pin and swap with me. slot trigger gen3. Fortunately, it's a fairly easy task, and the new trigger housing is only $9.95. You could go ahead and order a new gen3 case with 336 pins and swap them so you don't change your original in any way, but I wouldn't bother with that.

If you're moving and want to get all the parts at once and don't have to play the waiting game if the ejector doesn't solve your problem - my plan B is a replacement Lone Wolf Extractor or (more fun) a. 45ACP extractor used in the G21 / 30 change. There are reports that this is a good fix because the part is quite similar size-wise and the .45 extractor has a short gap between the rear surface and the claw. It also holds the case at a slightly different angle, more reminiscent of the non-LCI (loaded chamber indicator) extractors on 2nd gen Glocks (back when they worked like a charm).
Thanks to Mr. Humke at GlockParts.com, LLC, I received my new Gen4 trigger Housing with 30274 ejector in 3 days. The difference between the new and old 336 ejectors is quite large.

As for the installation, I would say it is not too difficult if you are comfortable stripping the area. The Glock is easier to use than I thought, they weren't kidding when they said some of the parts were there. The only tools you need are a punch, preferably the Glock Disassembly Tool (pictured below), and a small flat-head screwdriver. After removing the slide from the frame, you must use a tool to remove the marked pin from the frame. These are different sizes, so make sure you keep track of which one is which (easy, large, medium, small, front to back).
Next, you need to use something to lift the Locking Block (image below). It should come out very easily. When removing this, note the position of the Slide Hold Lever, then you must put it back.
Once the locking block is off, you will be able to remove the trigger (and Slide Catch Lever) and Trigger Housing from the frame. You can change it further, but that's really as far as you have to go. The Ejector Pin simply slides forward from the trigger body, although you will have to use a flat head to push it from the rear to get it to work (You can see the Ejector Pin on the back of the Body). Once you are far enough, either remove it by hand, carefully pry it out from the front with a screwdriver, or use a pair of needle-nose pliers (you may want to wrap cloth or electrical tape around it to prevent scratching) pry the pin out the rest of the way.

After removing both pins, push the 30274 ejector into the Gen3 housing, make sure it is fully seated, and reassemble your gun in reverse order. The only advice I have is to put the Slide Catch Lever in place after the trigger, then install it on the Locking Block that compresses the spring. Use the Glock Removal Tool to help line things up when reinserting the roll pin.
Yes, there are people here. 65 shells were fired today, almost all of them ran a little towards 6 with a perfect 4-5 hour shot, but went a few feet over my head. I think we have a winner. Time (well, a few hundred more rounds) will tell, but based on how miserable the last 35 rounds were compared to today's performance before the ejector change, I'd have to call it a win. GLOCK- please start using the 30274 ejector on all current 9mm production models, not just the Gen4 models. That's it.
